  • About Us - Dairy Crest

Dairy Crest is the UK's largest purchaser of milk, buying 2.2 billion litres per annum. The company is focused on building brands and adding value to milk, and our leading brands include Cathedral City, Clover, Country Life, FRijj, St Ivel advance, St Ivel Gold and Utterly Butterly.

As the UK's leading chilled dairy foods company, a positive working relationship with our supplying dairy farmers is integral to our success. Dairy Crest places great importance on ensuring that our milk suppliers feel a valued part of our business and we recognise that transparency and openness is crucial if we are to achieve our aim of creating an environment where each of our farmers takes pride in supplying their milk to Dairy Crest.

At Dairy Crest we believe that by working together both as part of the industry and in partnership with our milk suppliers, customers and consumers we are more likely to come through changes in the agricultural sector with a sustainable industry able to positively face the future. We have led the development of "added value milk pools" and are proud to be part of the widely heralded industry-leading Waitrose dairy farmers group.

Dairy Crest greatly value the relationship that we have with Waitrose and the identified pool of Waitrose Dairy Farmers - whose high quality essentials milk is kept segregated throughout the milk supply chain, from farm, through our efficient processing dairy in Gloucestershire, to Waitrose stores. The Waitrose Dairy Farmers Scheme has evolved through a fully inclusive process since it was started in 1999, ensuring that it continually improves and delivers points of difference appreciated by Waitrose consumers.
