You can experience the fascinating world of bees with these cardboard solitary bee nesting tubes. Solitary bees are effective and efficient pollinators in your garden or greenspace, pollinating veggies, flowering plants and fruit stock. They are non-aggressive to people and pets and are a delight to watch as they go about their work.

These particular tubes are ideal for mason/orchard bees (Megachile spp.) and can be used to fill existing bee boxes or to make your own simple bee nester. Female bees will lay eggs in the tubes between March to August, and will create a series of cells by forming caps of mud, leaves or fine hair depending on the species. Larvae develop over winter in these tubes and emerge in the spring as adult bees. The males and females mate and the cycle of life starts again.

Dimensions of each tube (mm): 150 x 8

Weight (g): 100

Please note: you can ensure that excellent bee health is maintained by using fresh cardboard tubes every season. For professional management of solitary bees in horticultural and orchard environments you may which to use these tubes in conjunction with Paper Tube Liners to enable examination of the bee cells and parasite control.
