or

Grey wagtails are distributed throughout much of the UK whilst dippers are mostly found in the uplands, and also in lowland southwest England. It is the former of these species that are in decline. This nest box is ideal for supporting the populations of these birds.

Occupants: wagtail, dipper, redstarts, robins, and the spotted flycatchers. Bats may also occupy this box.

Why are nest boxes important?

Natural nest sites are being lost having devastating consequences for bird species. Birds are an essential component of functioning ecosystems and have a direct impact on human populations and millions of other species. It is therefore important to provide our feathered friends with a home.

MATERIAL: Woodstone - a mix of wood fibres and concrete. This robust material is environmentally sustainable and will last for decades.

WARRANTY: 10 Year

DIMENSIONS (MM): 170 x 200 x 310

WEIGHT (KG): 6

SPECIES: wagtail, dipper, redstarts, robins, and the spotted flycatchers. Bats may also occupy this box.

SITING: It is recommended that this box is best situated close to fast-flowing water i.e. mounted on a wall on the underside of a bridge. It can also be sited on buildings close to a water source. The nesting box is suitable for the wagtail, however, it may also attract redstarts, robins, and the spotted flycatchers. For these species, it is best to hang from buildings. The nesting box can be fixed with screws on three sides, or with the appropriate glue. Nesting material is not required.

MAINTENANCE: The box must be cleaned once a year, in late autumn from October. The suspension must also be checked annually.
