Our sliding roof dormouse box is now made from marine ply for increased lifespan, an improved sliding feature where the lid has to be lifted slightly before sliding off, and a screw on the front to help with tying to a tree.
The sliding-roof option vs lift-off roof is a personal preference, but some ecologists believe sliding a roof slowly and carefully for a peek inside, is less disturbing for a resident dormouse.
