House Martins like to live in colonies, nest under the eaves of houses and very often multiple pairs will take up residence in the same location. This dropping board helps catch unwanted mess on the ground below the nests. The board should be fixed by screws about 60cm below the House Martin nest.
When fixed to a wall, there is a 2cm gap between the wall and the dropping board, accessed from underneath, to provide a sheltered area for bats.
