Kestrels are an adaptable species; a synanthropic bird who lives in habitats made or altered by humans, the kestrel has settled in our human environment nicely.
Why are nest boxes important?
Natural nest sites are being lost having devastating consequences for bird species. Birds are an essential component of functioning ecosystems and have a direct impact on human populations and millions of other species. It is therefore important to provide our feathered friends with a home.

SITING: This next box has been especially developed for use on buildings. Thanks to the curved shape and light grey colour, the nesting aid does not constitute a visual foreign body on the building but instead integrates harmoniously on the structure.
The box should be installed at a height of at least 6 - 8 metres and the distance between boxes should be a minimum of 400m.
To accelerate kestrel settlement, it is recommended to place a mixture of moist, coarse sawdust, wood shavings, and washed sand in the nest box.
