The SMX-U1 omnidirectional ultrasonic microphone, designed for use with the SM2BAT+, provides you with excellent performance. It uses the same proprietary technology developed for the Song Meter SM3BAT and SMZC microphones, the SMM-U1.
You can either connect the microphone directly to the SM2BAT+ unit or use it in combination with extension cables, allowing you to position the mic up to 100 m away from the recorder.

In the field: set 12dB of gain on the SM2BAT or SM2BAT+ for normal recording conditions or 0dB if you are close to the bats to avoid clipping. Alter rows 6 to 9 of the jumper switches. Set to 6 (on), 7 (off), 8 (off), 9 (on) for 12dB gain or set to 6 (on), 7 (off), 8 (on) 9 (off) for 0dB gain.

Q. Can I Use An SMM-U1 Or SMX-U1 Microphone To Record Non-Ultrasonic Signals?
A. SMM-U1 and SMX-U1 have built-in high-pass filters at 8 kHz to cut down on wind noise and other sources of low-frequency rumble. This means that any sound at frequencies lower than 8 kHz will be significantly reduced in volume or completely absent.

We aim for next working day delivery on all UK mainland orders received before 3.00pm. Where products need to be made to order or are not a regular stock item, or during busy times of year, despatch times may be longer.

We will always use a reputable courier company and require a signature on delivery. Smaller items are usually shipped using Royal Mail or DPD, and larger items are sent using TNT or Tuffnells. Palletised deliveries are with Pallex.

If your order doesn’t qualify for free shipping then UK mainland delivery starts at £6.67 ex VAT, while Highlands and Islands delivery starts at £12.50. You can calculate shipping costs using the basket.
Important Information About Backorders
At Wildcare there are times when items are only available on a backorder basis, either due to high demand or if the item is a special order item. We refer to these as ‘backorder items.
Backorder items are clearly listed on our website as ‘Order To Reserve Stock (Backorder)’. Items that are in stock and ready to be shipped immediately are listed as ‘In Stock’.
