The Song Meter Mini Bat 2 Lithium-ion Ultrasonic Recorder is a compact, weatherproof bat recorder designed for long-term ultrasonic monitoring in the field. Using up to six 18650 lithium-ion batteries, it can record for up to 125 ten-hour nights, making it ideal for extended deployments where minimising site visits is important.
Designed for ecologists, consultants and researchers, the recorder features a built-in low-noise ultrasonic microphone capable of capturing high-quality full-spectrum recordings, helping to detect quieter or more distant bat calls. Advanced triggering technology helps reduce false triggers, resulting in more usable recordings and less time spent filtering unwanted files during analysis.
The Song Meter Mini Bat 2 can record in both full-spectrum WAV and zero-crossing formats and is programmable using the free Song Meter Configurator app for iOS and Android devices. Using Bluetooth® connectivity, you can configure schedules, GPS location and recording settings directly from your smartphone or tablet.
An optional acoustic stub microphone can also be added for recording birds, amphibians and other wildlife vocalising within the acoustic range. Ultrasonic and acoustic recording can be scheduled during different periods within the same deployment, although not simultaneously.
