The Anabat Scout is a compact, full spectrum bat detector designed specifically for active bat surveys, transects and emergence counts. Combining real-time listening, full spectrum recording and built-in GPS logging in a lightweight handheld unit, the Scout is well suited to ecologists, consultants and bat workers who need reliable field performance without unnecessary complexity.
The detector allows you to listen to bat calls in real time using heterodyne, auto-heterodyne or frequency division audio through the built-in speaker or headphones, while simultaneously recording geo-tagged full spectrum and zero-crossing files to an SD card for later analysis.
The built-in GPS records survey tracks and geotags recordings automatically, while the integrated in/out bat counter enables users to timestamp and geotag roost emergence and re-entry counts directly in the field. Voice notes can also be recorded and stored alongside survey data.
The Scout has been designed for practical field use, featuring a compact ergonomic body, illuminated tactile keypad, glow-in-the-dark buttons and a discreet OLED display with bright and dim modes for low-light working.
