Anabat Scout is an affordable bat detector that is ideal for your active survey requirements. This device suits all of your needs, whether it is recording geo-tagged full spectrum and zero-crossing files for viewing waveforms and reviewing sonograms later, or listening in real-time to heterodyne, auto-heterodyne and frequency division audio through earphones or the built-in speaker.

For those important observations you can simply record voice notes that are stored in your sound files. Additionally, an in/out bat counter allows you to time stamp and geotag every count simply by hitting the in or out button each time a bat enters or exits the roost. Meanwhile, the built-in GPS records the ecologist's location during the session.  

The design of this device inspires confidence in the field, due to its robust and ergonomic construction, protective carry case with belt loop, and lanyard. In addition, consideration has been given to night-time and low-light working through the provision of a small black OLED display in dim or bright modes, and a glow-in-the-dark button that aids you in operating your device in the dark.

How to update your Anabat Scout (Firmware update 1.0, July 2019) :

Step 1 - Your Anabat Scout is easily updated using an SD card. Simply download the update file using this link and copy it to the root directy on an SD card. Make sure the file is named scout.adx. You can use the same SD card to update multiple Scouts.

Step 2 - Insert the SD card and fresh batteries into your Scout then power it on. After a short time a message will appear: "Firmware update 1.0 available. Would you like to update now?". Press the "Yes" key (right hand soft key) to start the update. Do not remove the batteries or power off the detector while the update is being installed. Two squares will scroll across the display while the update is being installed and then the detector will restart.

The update is now complete, happy batting! If you encounter any difficulties with this process please don’t hesitate to contact for assistance.

We aim for next working day delivery on all UK mainland orders received before 3.00pm. Where products need to be made to order or are not a regular stock item, or during busy times of year, despatch times may be longer.

We will always use a reputable courier company and require a signature on delivery. Smaller items are usually shipped using Royal Mail or DPD, and larger items are sent using TNT or Tuffnells. Palletised deliveries are with Pallex.

We will email you shipping confirmation after your order has been despatched. Where available, you will also receive tracking notification by email or text. If you need to track your parcel urgently then please contact us.

We can deliver to anywhere in the world, but you may need to contact us for a quote.

If your order doesn’t qualify for free shipping then UK mainland delivery starts at £6.67 ex VAT, while Highlands and Islands delivery starts at £12.50. You can calculate shipping costs using the basket.

Important Information About Backorders

At Wildcare there are times when items are only available on a backorder basis, either due to high demand or if the item is a special order item. We refer to these as ‘backorder items.

Backorder items are clearly listed on our website as ‘Order To Reserve Stock (Backorder)’. Items that are in stock and ready to be shipped immediately are listed as ‘In Stock’.

We cannot guarantee that a backordered item will come back into stock or be delivered for a specific date, however we will always do our best to keep you informed and updated.

If you receive damaged items or the wrong goods, please let us know straight away so that we can arrange for them to be returned to us and replaced as quickly as possible.
