The Habibat 003 Bat Box is a large, single-chamber bat roost designed to be built directly into the fabric of a building during construction or renovation. Made from insulating concrete, it provides a stable internal roost space suitable for a wide range of UK bat species commonly associated with buildings.
An integrated internal V system increases the available roosting surface and allows bats to move within the box, supporting both day roosting and maternity use. The Habibat 003 is well suited to biodiversity-led developments and mitigation projects where long-term roost provision is required.
The box features a stretcher bond facing, allowing it to blend discreetly into brick or blockwork. It can be supplied with a standard facing for new builds or made to order with bespoke finishes to suit specific design requirements.
Construction & Installation
The Habibat 003 is designed for integration into walls and façades, replacing standard bricks without altering the building footprint. It is suitable for new builds, extensions and retrofit projects where bat roost provision is required as part of planning or licensing conditions.
For best results, the box should be installed at height and in a sunny location, ideally on a south-facing, south-east or south-west aspect. Positioning near eaves or gable ends and close to linear landscape features such as hedgerows or treelines can improve uptake by bats.
Facing Options
Standard facing: Smooth blue or red brick, suitable for new builds.
Bespoke facing: Made to order with a choice of finishes. Please contact us for a quote. For bespoke orders, we'll require x10 bricks per bat box ordered.
