House Martins construct nests from mud on the eaves of buildings often in colonies, but changes to house construction and roof design mean that suitable nest sites have been lost. This artificial nest is a good alternative.

Natural nest sites are being lost having devastating consequences for bird species. Birds are an essential component of functioning ecosystems and have a direct impact on human populations and millions of other species. It is therefore important to provide our feathered friends with a home.

SITING: Hang the artificial nests for the house martin on the façade of the house or barn, directly under the roof gutter or the overhang. Preferably on the east or northeast side, preferably with several nests together as House Martins are colonial nesters. No nesting material needs to be added. The artificial nests are supplied with mounting material, two plugs, and screws.
MAINTENANCE: The house martin nests will need to be cleaned and inspected once a year from October. For cleaning, you can turn the hook on the front of the nest bowl one turn and slide the nest out of the drawer. The suspension will need to be checked, as well as the condition of the entire artificial nest.
