Our bitumen felt squares provide an inexpensive solution for large scale reptile surveys and are often deployed in large numbers.

Artificial refugia attract reptiles as they absorb heat and provide shelter from predators. Bitumen felt is normally used because it is light enough to transport but produces favourable conditions attractive to reptiles. The felts should be located in sunny areas near to cover and away from human disturbance.
