The well-established Schwegler 3S for starlings is the ideal choice for your use on your house, in gardens, and in woodlands, as they form an important part of any nature conservation concept.
Key Features:

- Large entrance hole and light interior
- Attracts lots of other species
Occupants: Starlings, Nuthatches, Spotted Woodpeckers, and Pied Flycatchers.
Why are nest boxes important?
Natural nest sites are being lost having devastating consequences for bird species. Birds are an essential component of functioning ecosystems and have a direct impact on human populations and millions of other species. It is therefore important to provide our feathered friends with a home.
MATERIAL: WOODCRETE
INCLUDES: Nest box, hanger, and aluminium nail.
DIMENSIONS: 190 X 280 X 20; 140 (INNER)
ENTRANCE HOLE: 45
WEIGHT (KG): 4.4
SPECIES: Starlings, Nuthatches (will reduce the entrance size to 32mm), Spotted Woodpeckers, and Pied Flycatchers.
SITING:
Hang the nest box with the supplied screw or nail. No nesting material needs to be added.
Hang the nest box at a height of at least 2 meters along the edge of the forest or in the forest itself (or if another suitable location is available). Starlings like to breed close to each other, so it is recommended to hang up several nest boxes in the same area.
Optional:
The nest box can also be attached to a tree without a nail or screw by means of Velcro. To do this, turn the suspension bracket 180 degrees at the rear.
MAINTENANCE:
Clean the nesting box once a year when the youngsters have fledged. To open the nest box simply turn the two screw hooks at the front 180 degrees, the front of the nest box can then be removed. If a second brood follows, the nest box must be cleaned again in the late autumn. The reliability of the suspension must also be checked annually.
