The Titley Scientific Ranger is a fully customisable bioacoustic recorder designed for long-term wildlife monitoring in demanding field conditions. Developed from the proven Titley Scientific Chorus and Anabat Swift recorders, the Ranger combines flexible multi-channel recording, rugged weatherproof construction and long deployment times in a compact and lightweight unit.
Designed for professional ecological surveys and research, the Ranger allows simultaneous recording of ultrasonic and acoustic wildlife using a wide range of interchangeable microphones. Whether monitoring bats, birds, amphibians or other vocalising wildlife, the Ranger provides a highly adaptable solution for both short-term surveys and permanent installations.

Flexible Recording Configurations
The Ranger supports a wide range of microphone combinations to suit different survey requirements. The recorder features three channels (A, B and C), allowing users to record:
- Mono acoustic recording
- Stereo acoustic recording
- Mono ultrasonic recording
- Simultaneous acoustic and ultrasonic recording
- Custom scheduled combinations of acoustic and ultrasonic monitoring
Compatible microphones include low-profile side-mounted acoustic microphones, front-mounted acoustic microphones, and omnidirectional or directional ultrasonic microphones. Front-mounted microphones can also be used with extension cables up to 100 metres.
Designed for Long Deployments
The Ranger is designed for extended field deployments with low power consumption and multiple powering options. The recorder can operate using either 4 or 8 AA batteries, or via external power supplies and solar panels for permanent or semi-permanent installations.
