SPECIES: These open nest boxes will be used by Robins, Spotted Flycatchers, Pied and Grey Wagtails, Song Thrushes, Black Redstarts, and also Wrens if the box is well hidden.
SITING: We recommend using aluminium nails to hang due to the weight of the nest box and to limit any damage caused to trees. Birds that occupy the open next boxes prefer their nesting sites to be hidden. If sited high on a wall or tree amongst Ivy or similar climbing vegetation, the box is more likely to be occupied by species such as Robins and Spotted Flycatchers. MAINTENANCE: Birds will clean their own nests before each breeding season, however, we suggest that you clean them out at the end of the breeding season, around October time. In doing this you may encourage them to return the following year. This box has a removable front panel for easy cleaning.
