This WoodStone® built-in nest box is designed to provide a dedicated nesting space for house sparrows within building façades. Suitable for new-build projects, it integrates directly into brickwork, helping to replace lost nesting sites.
With a 15 cm deep internal base, the box offers suitable nesting space for sparrows. As house sparrows are a colonial species, installing multiple boxes together is recommended.

Species Suitability
Primarily designed for house sparrows. May also be used by other species such as tits and tree sparrows depending on location.
Siting & Installation
Install horizontally within the façade so that the front sits flush with the wall surface. Position high on the building where possible, ideally under the eaves, or at a minimum height of 3 metres.
North- or east-facing façades are preferred, although other orientations can be suitable if sheltered. Avoid placing above doors or windows, and avoid locations with prolonged direct sunlight or exposure to driving rain.
When installing multiple boxes, maintain at least 50 cm spacing between units.
Maintenance
The front panel can be opened for cleaning. Remove the screw at the top and release the lower fixing to access the interior. Cleaning is best carried out after the breeding season, from October onwards.
