The Titley Scientific microphone extension cables are used for mounting configurations when having the microphone directly on the detector is not suitable. Especially when recording full spectrum, mounting the microphone away from reflective surfaces can help produce better recordings by reducing echos. Mounting the microphone higher off the ground can also help reduce insect noise.
