Murcia Swift Facade Nest Box

The Murcia Swift Facade Nest Box is designed for installation on building facades as part of mitigation, compensation or enhancement schemes. Suitable for new builds, renovation projects and existing structures, it provides an external nesting solution without the need for integration into brickwork.

This model is derived from the well-known Maastricht nest box design and is manufactured from FSC-certified plywood. The exterior is finished with a grey spray cork coating for weather resistance, while the internal rear wall is also coated in spray cork to provide grip for young birds as they develop and exercise their wings.

The nest box may occasionally be used by house sparrows. Their presence can help swifts locate the box, although swifts will take over the site if they choose to occupy it.

Siting Guidance

• Install facing between east and north where possible
• Other orientations are suitable if installed beneath a sufficient overhang
• Maintain at least 50 cm spacing horizontally and vertically when installing multiple boxes
• Do not add nesting material

To install, fix the supplied screw hook to the wall at the desired location. Hang the box onto the hook and secure it using the provided wall plug and screw.
