This flat plywood insert is designed for use with dormouse footprint tracking tunnels, providing a simple and replaceable base for footprint recording during surveys.
Used as part of the tunnel system developed by PTES, the insert supports the placement of paper and an ink pad. When an animal passes through the tunnel, it walks across the ink and leaves identifiable footprints on the paper, allowing surveyors to detect the presence of hazel dormice without disturbance.
