The Manthorpe Bat Ridge Roost - Round provides a self-contained roosting space for small crevice-dwelling bat species found in the UK. Designed in association with the Bat Conservation Trust as part of their Roost Partnership scheme, it is installed externally at the end of the ridge tiles on a gable end.
The roost provides a protected habitat for bats while offering no access into the roof space or property. It also acts as a ridge end cap, creating a durable, covered finish for most styles of round ridge tiles.
The Bat Ridge Roost is suitable for new-build and refurbishment projects. It is optimised for use with Manthorpe SmartVerge polypropylene dry verge systems, but can also be used with other dry verge units, traditional verge tiles or mortared verge details.

Siting & Installation
The Manthorpe Bat Ridge Roost - Round is installed at the end of round ridge tiles on a gable end. The apex should ideally be more than 4m above ground level.
The product is made up of two parts: a mounting plate and a pre-assembled cover plate assembly. The cover plate assembly contains the bat habitat and insulation and is supplied with three pre-fitted screws.
For dry ridge systems, prepare the roof in line with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and ensure the final ridge tile is secured in place. For traditional verge details, the substrate should be suitable for a robust fixing.
To install, the mounting plate is fitted to the ridge end and secured into the longitudinal battens and the end of the ridge batten where possible. The cover plate assembly is then slid over the mounting plate and fixed into position using the pre-assembled screws.
