Pulsar Lumion XL50 Thermal Imaging Monocular
Pulsar Lumion XL50 Thermal Imaging Monocular
The Pulsar Lumion XL50 is Pulsar Wildlife’s top-of-the-range thermal imaging monocular, designed for users who require high image detail, long detection range and dependable performance in demanding outdoor conditions. It is well suited to wildlife enthusiasts, ecologists and outdoor professionals working in varied environments.
High-Resolution Thermal Performance
The Lumion XL50 features a large format 1024×768, 12µm, <20 mK sNETD HD thermal sensor. This high resolution and sensitivity allow the device to detect small temperature differences, helping to separate animals from surrounding vegetation, even in poor weather.
Paired with a 50mm f1.0 germanium objective lens, the Lumion XL50 achieves a detection range of up to 2300 metres. The 2.5–20x magnification range supports both wide-area scanning and detailed inspection when identification is required.
Enhanced Image Detail
Pulsar’s Image Boost processing technology improves contrast and clarity across complex scenes. This helps render low-contrast subjects more clearly against backgrounds such as grass, sky or water. Brightness, contrast and sensitivity can be adjusted to suit conditions and reduce eye strain during extended observation.
Ergonomic Field Design
The rubber-armoured composite housing is designed to withstand regular outdoor use. Zoom and focus rings are positioned on the objective lens, offering a familiar, camera-style operation for smooth magnification and focusing.
- Top-mounted control buttons for straightforward operation
- Rotating hand strap suitable for left- and right-handed users
- Customisable menu layout and button configuration
8 Colour Palettes
The Lumion XL50 includes 8 selectable colour palettes to match different tasks and lighting conditions:
- White Hot, Black Hot and Red Hot for detection
- Rainbow and Ultramarine for recognition and identification
- Red Monochrome, Sepia and Violet for extended night-time observation
Weather Protection
With an IPX7 waterproof rating, the Lumion XL50 is protected against water ingress and can withstand immersion in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. It operates in temperatures from -25°C to +40°C, making it suitable for year-round field use.
Recording & Connectivity
The built-in still image and video recorder allows footage to be stored directly to the device’s internal memory. Wi-Fi connectivity enables pairing with the Pulsar Wildlife Wild Vision app (Android and iOS).
- Remote control and live viewing via smartphone or tablet
- Download and share recorded images and video
- Firmware updates through the app
The Pulsar Lumion XL50 combines high-resolution thermal imaging, extended detection range and durable construction in a monocular designed for professional wildlife observation and fieldwork.
