The Schwegler 1FD Bat Box with Triple Front Panel is designed as a specialised nursery roost for small bat species. The internal layout and entrance design are tailored to suit species such as pipistrelles, providing appropriate roosting conditions.
The box features a domed roof, increased internal height and a triple front panel system with corrugated wooden inserts. These internal elements create defined crevice spaces with suitable spacing for small bats.

Species Suitability

Siting & Installation
Install in a suitable location such as trees or buildings. For best results, position multiple boxes with different orientations to provide a range of conditions.
Maintenance
The front panel can be removed for inspection and cleaning where required. Any inspection should be carried out by a licensed bat worker in accordance with current legislation.

SITING: Bat boxes should ideally be sited in open sunny positions and in groups of 3 to 5 boxes facing different directions to provide a variety of micro-habitats. Please note that once bats have inhabited a roost site they may only be disturbed by licensed bat workers.
MAINTENANCE: The front panel can be removed for inspection and cleaning. This should be done by a licenced bat worker.
