Schwegler 3FF Bat Colony Box Without Inspection Hatch
The 3FF Colony Bat Box (without inspection hatch) is designed to provide roosting space for a range of bat species, including those that prefer larger hanging areas such as noctule bats, as well as pipistrelles. Its internal design allows bats to move between different hanging zones, helping them adjust to changing conditions.
The internal space supports groups of bats, including nursery roosts, and offers sufficient room for bats to cluster together in cooler conditions or spread out in warmer temperatures.

Siting & Installation
Install at a height of at least 3 metres on trees, posts, buildings or similar structures. Positioning should allow a clear flight path to the entrance.
Inspection Option
A version with an inspection hatch is available, allowing the internal space to be viewed where inspection is required.
In the late summer the enlarged interior volume is an advantage, especiallyas a transition and mating roost.
It is self-cleaning, i.e the Bat droppings can fall our freely from the underside without blocking the entrance, if the box is densly occupied. On the one hand, the special design of the entrane slot prevents excessive incident light and draughts, and on the other it also enables pregnant animals to acess the box safely.

With Inspection Hatch:
If increased inspection frequency is planned for these boxes, we recommend the 3FF model with additional inspection hatch. Thank so the hatch, the whole interior can be inspected with a mirror or torch. In the version without hatch, the interior cannot be examined completely without opening the front panel.
Recommended Installation: 3M higher and higher on trees, posts, hunting hides and walls
Material/Fixings: Made from the wel-know SCHWEGLER wood-concrete mix. The 3FF is supplied with hanger and aluminium nail.
