The Large Multi-Chamber Bat Tree Box is a robust WoodStone bat box designed primarily for installation in trees, with the option of placement in suitable attic spaces. Developed in collaboration with bat specialists, it provides well-insulated roosting conditions with reduced condensation, making it suitable for summer roosting and potential maternity use.
Constructed from 100% WoodStone – a durable blend of FSC-certified wood fibres and concrete – the box offers long service life and stable internal conditions. The internal layout includes structured hanging surfaces and open space at the top, allowing multiple bats to roost together.

Siting & Installation
- Primarily designed for installation in trees (forest, park or garden settings)
- Can also be placed in suitable attic spaces
- Minimum installation height: 3 metres
- Provide a clear flight path to the entrances
- Avoid artificial lighting and positioning directly above windows or doors
- Install multiple boxes where possible, varying height and aspect
The box is supplied with a large screw hook for tree installation. If installed in trees, suspension should be checked annually.
Maintenance
The removable internal structure allows inspection and cleaning. Cleaning is recommended once per year in winter during frost conditions, ensuring the box is unoccupied before work is undertaken.

SITING:
The bat box can be placed on both a tree or a façade. Preferably choose a sunny spot but do not place the cabinet under or in artificial light and avoid placing where the rain can directly access the box.
Preferably hang several boxes together. When placing in bunkers, cellars, attics, and stables, place the cabinets as high as possible against the façade or posts, they should be hung at a minimum height of 3 meters.
MAINTENANCE:
Front panel can easily be removed for cleaning and inspection.
